December 22, 2020 | 8:26 am

His Excellency hon. Dr. Kalonzo Musyoka, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mumo Kisau, the Presiding Bishop AIC-Kenya, Bishop Abraham Mulwa, eminent guests, the board of trustees, the University Council members, University Management Board, Senate, Staff, Students and Graduands, how are you?

First, I want to say congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2020! You have worked tooth and nail to see this culmination of your university education. Today, it is evident that the hard work has paid. This is not a mere achievement! Congratulations!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Graduations are like a rite of passage to a higher level of responsibility. We are pleased to release to the world a team of reformers, fresh from our university having gained new knowledge, acquired skills and developed character.

As an institution, we emphasize on personal character development as we believe that it is a fundamental requirement for all agents of change, credible leaders and men of God. As Billy Graham once said, “When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; When health is lost, something is lost; When character is lost, all is lost.” This informs our vision to be Centre of ‘Holistic Transformative Education.’

J.F Kennedy once observed that … “It is not just Education we need, but the right kind of education.” This embodies our passion, to offer the kind of education that transforms individuals for service to god and man for God’s own glory. We endeavor to promote the right kind values to graduate the right kind of graduands in order to realise transformational changes that the world today is desperate for.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We all know and appreciate that every marvelous act is the doing of the lord. As it has been our norm, we have worked with tenacity towards being a desirable university as we envision it. A university that above all else develops your character.

From the field of Education, Business Administration, Information Communication Technology, Counselling Psychology, Community Development, Leadership and Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management or Theology, your character has been modelled to be a god-fearing professional.

We believe that you will be exceptional leaders, managers and officers who lead by example. Stand out. The knowledge and skill gained here are significant, however, let your character also speak for you out there.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We live in the wake of corona virus. The world over is struggling with this pandemic. I urge you and yours to follow the prevention measures as directed by the Ministry of health to help combat this menace.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

In conclusion, allow me to remind us all of our core values as Scott Christian University, that we are a Christian institution, we are accountable, honest and transparent. We are committed to quality servant-oriented results. We are loving, caring and responsive. And finally, we are committed to excellence and stewardship. I urge you all dear graduands, may you go out there and live these values.

May our God Bless you all!

Thank you!
