International Women and Girls in Science in Kenya: An Interview with Scott Christian University on K24 and TV47

Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields have historically been dominated by men, with women and girls facing numerous obstacles and barriers to their participation and success. However, in recent years, efforts have been made to promote the inclusion and representation of women and girls in these fields, recognizing their immense potential and contributions to the scientific community. In Kenya, this effort has been particularly significant, with organizations and institutions working to support and empower women and girls in science.
One such organization the university has been actively involved in promoting STEM education for women and girls in Kenya. In an interview conducted by K24 and TV47, Ms. Linda Okeyo, Lecture of Scott Christian University, discussed the institution’s efforts in this regard, and the challenges faced by women and girls in science in Kenya.
Ms. Okeyo highlighted the importance of encouraging women and girls to pursue STEM fields, noting that it was crucial for the economic and social development of the country.
