As part of the holistic atmosphere at Scott, there are a number of activities that students can be involved in outside of the time spent in class.

Fellowship

From assigned Friday fellowship groups and weekly campus-wide fellowships to chapel services held Monday through Thursday, there are many organized opportunities for students to fellowship with each other and faculty members. Since many students live on campus there are also many opportunities for less formal times of prayer, praise and relaxation with others.

Spiritual Life Department Activities

Mission Outreach Fellowship: allows students interested in missions to meet, pray, and travel to do missions even in places where the gospel has not yet reached. This group has also held seminars, inviting people from surrounding churches as well as students and faculty.

Scott Evangelistic Choir: is another ministry of the Spiritual life department. Since 2006 when it began, Scott Evangelistic Choir has produced 3 albums and is in the process of filming for a video. The choir is welcomes singers from within the entire Scott fraternity and seeks to minister through music and dance.

Sports

Each term students have the opportunity to compete with other universities in sports and athletic tournaments. These include football, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, athletics such as running and even board games. The aim is not only physical fitness and competition but also to build relationships with other universities.

Cultural Events

SCU celebrates the diversity of its students, faculty and staff cultures through a cultural night where the beauty of various cultures is enjoyed and celebrated as God’s wonderful creation. SCU is a community with different cultural backgrounds, united and founded on Christian principles where everybody is somebody and God is glorified.

Field Ministry

Each year students from Scott School of Theology are assigned a church where they minister each Sunday. Within the church they are given assignments from helping with praise and worship to teaching the children. Serving in the same church each week provides students with an opportunity to build relationships and gain first-hand experience.

Scott Community Chapel is a ministry of Scott Christian University that models the early church in matters of faith and practice. As a church, we are committed to the Person of Jesus Christ, and we base our teaching and practice upon God’s revealed word, the Bible. It is our desire that people come to place their trust in Christ to forgive and lead them, and that they grow in their relationship with Him.

Our Mission

“To glorify God and reach out to the community around us with a balanced and relevant biblical worship”

Our vision

“To be a Christian community of excellence, equipping believers with the gospel of Christ to the glory of God”

We do this by:

  • Winning souls in obedience to the great commission. Mathew- 28:19-20, Acts 1:8
  • Discipline, mentoring, doing missions and equipping believers under the contours of sound doctrine- Titus 2:1,2 Timothy 2:2
  • Building servant leaders and leadership styles based on biblical principles- Mathew 20:26, 1 Peter 5:2-4.
  • Promoting and embracing a biblical model of worship- John 4:23-24.
  • Using holistic approaches to meet the needs of the society around us.
